On a Wednesday evening long after the students have gone home, the MFL department opens its doors to members of the community who would like to learn a new language. This summer 20 adults enrolled on a Beginners German Course and have learnt to introduce themselves and their families, say the alphabet, count to 100, order food and drink, understand directions and tell the time.
We hope to build upon this in September so watch this space for more details...

How I miss Wednesday evenings , Suzanne ...what a fun teacher you are , I enjoyed the lessons so much and when I go to Husum at least I will have some idea of what to say and do. Look forward to the autumn.

Just to say "Thanks" to Suzanne for the free tuition on Wednesday evenings. I have learnt so much in such a short time and have thoroughly enjoyed being back at school! I do hope to be able to build on my new knowledge in the autumn. - Excellent teacher and a very friendly atmosphere.

The German classes on Wednesday evenings have been fun and informative due mostly to Suzanne Prout who makes learning a foreign language appear so simple...even though it's not. Hopefully when I go to Husum next month I will be able to use some of the knowledge she has given us.

Well done to Baxter College for taking on board the need for adult evening German tuition in a town that after all is twinned with Husum in Germany. The course has been very enjoyable and I will probably be back for more in the Autumn and will recommend others to join us.

I think that this new modern launguages access is a really good idea. Not only does it tell you what the weather is from your nearest airport, but it ables you to post comments and everything! I am going to use it all the time and I'd use it for educational reasons as well a social reasons. I really hope that this comes out for most lessons because it is so good. Thanks!
