At Baxter, we understand that the best way to learn a foreign language is by going to the country itself. That's why last year 78 pupils chose to come away with us.
Those of you who opt to study German in Year 10 will get the chance to put your language skills to the test by taking part in our exchange programme with Hennef Gesamtschule.
This year's exchange was a great success.
Have a look at what we got up to in Germany..

From what I've heard, it sounded like a brillant trip and I now wish that I'd gone.

Hi, well I didn't go on the Exchange but from what I heard from my friends who did go, it sounded like great fun. I would tell anyone who has the chance to go next year to go, I missed something great, don't do the same!

When I was at school (a million years ago!), I went on a German Exchange and it was the best experience of my school life! It's a brilliant opportunity to visit another country and to see its culture. I would definitely recommend it!

The German Exchange is the best school experience ever. I was on the 2008 one and had loads of fun doing all the activites and days out but also learning how to speak German and the feeling when you can begin to have a conversation with them. I would recommend it to all. It's cool and the German girls are very very nice too. :P ;)

I'm in year 8 and I'm without a doubt doing German next year and hope to go on the German Exchange. I got a chance to meet the German teacher beforehand in cooking and she told me how the German school works. I'm interested to find out more. The blog is a great idea and finding out that Canadian people have already visited the site proves its a great success. P.S I agree with Andy on the fast picture thing.

I think that all the pictures looked really cool and when I'm old enough I really want to go on it. When we had our German student come to stay, she told me and my family all about Germany and how good the exchange is.

I think it was good for the German kids to come over and see what life is like in England. I liked Abbie's friend Anna. She was really nice to be around.
